Weekend jobs?

Just a quick post today. There is not a lot I need to do in the garden at the moment, until it warms up a bit and I can get more plugs in. I have not had much luck with my seeds, so far, and due to lack of space needed to prick out the seedlings and pot on I think for most of my veg crops I shall start them as small plants. I shall however still try to do some lettuce and radish from seed, and go with small plants for the cucumbers, strawberry’s and tomatoes. They are still fairly cheap if bought as plugs and I think that the head start will help me along.

These are a few I fancy getting:

Cucumber – Green Fingers

Sweet Pepper – Denver

Tomatoes – Tumbling Tom and Lizzano for baskets and a tumbler for pots

Strawberry planting kit for the patio

I just need to wait until payday to get started with my ordering! 😉

  1. I never do well with seeds. Think I start them too early in my eagerness to see something green 🙂

Good luck with the small plants!

  2. Wish I didn’t have much to do in my garden and that I could just relax in it – we are ground clearing so it will realistically be next year before the real fun can start.

However, some seeds do respond to soaking over night in water to help germination and others respond to putting them in the fridge – have a scoot on the net to see which ones but it may help increase your success rate.

Don’t use up our vital cider-space in the fridge if you are gonna put any seeds in there lol 😉 xxxxxxxx
