Catching Up

So in my last post i mentioned i was looking forward to a long weekend of gardening, that didn’t quite turn out according to plan. I caught a rather nasty bug which knocked me out pretty much all weekend. I did have a few hours of feeling a bit better on Sunday so i took advantage of this and nipped to the garden centre, bought some plugs and collected my fuchsia jumbo plugs. I managed to get some great bargains, 3 packs of  20 plug plants for £9 so i bought some Marigolds, Antirrhinum Majus and some Gazania Sunshine. I already had the small pots so i planted on these plugs and popped them in the greenhouse to get big and lovely as these wee beauts will be the stars of my pots in the summer.

This was my kit and how i planted up the plugs. I transfered them from the small trays into my  6cm pots, these pots have trays to keep the soil moist. I planted the jumbo plug fuchsias into 9cm pots.

They are now all tucked into the greenhouse under my seed trays. I had a few more seeds to plant thanks to my friend Sarah who sent me poppies, bee mix, morning glory and carrots, so i popped the wild flowers into my wild flower border, which is just an area of soil where i want to attract bees, birds and insects, and the morning glory are in the trays to propagate.

I now have a full greenhouse!  There are a few small gaps for the odd pot but i am not entirely sure what i am going to do with the seeds once they are big enough to pot on. I may need 2 greenhouses…….
